We are pleased to announce that Gelato Shop Cremolata won first place in the Gelato World Tour - Middle East stage.
More than 40,000 people attended the 4th stage of the Gelato World Tour in Dubai, February 13th -15th. For the first time in Dubai, it was the public who voted. The final standings were based 50% on the public’s votes and 50% on the technical jury’s vote.
The winning flavor ‘Cremo Bueno’ by Cremolata, “is a milky, classic Italian Hazelnut gelato topped with milk chocolate mixed with small cubes of crispy wafers. It’s simple but the secret is in the recipe itself: the balance between the flavors, taste and sweetness with velvety textures. It’s our signature flavor and our best seller as well; it deserved to be chosen to compete in Gelato World Tour”.
‘Cremo Bueno’ was also inspired from a trade mission trip organized by Khalifa Fund back in June 2013 to Italy. “This shows the importance of the foreign exhibitions and visits organized by the Fund. After visiting several factories in search of raw materials and meeting with the workers, I was truly inspired,” said owner Abdel Rahman Al Tunaiji.
Cremolata’s gelato artisan, Joselito Reyes, also took the award Cookies® Best Taster (in which participants had to determine the ingredients in a blind gelato-taste test).
Gelato Shop Cremolata will be moving on to compete at the Grand Finale in Rimini, Italy in September 2014.
