Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) was established as per the decree No. (2) of the year 2005 issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, with a view to ensure food safety, guarantee the quality of food for human consumption and conduct the necessary research and studies on food safty.
Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) is responsible for food safety and agriculture in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, including animal health. The Authority encourages and supports research in all areas of food and agriculture that leads to the development of specifications, standards and regulations that match the latest scientific knowledge in its areas of responsibility. The Authority carried out its tasks, which include enforcement of rules and regulations as well as creation of awareness among the public, in coordination with all the concerned government bodies and private sector organisations.
